Jakob Molinder och Johan Ericsson har lyckats ta fram ett omfattande jämförelsematerial som visar hur lönerna för olika typer av byggnadsarbetare förändrades i Sverige under tiden 1831-1900. Det visar sig att lönenivåerna var relativt konstanta till 1850-talet, men att utvecklingen sedan tog fart, i synnerhet efter 1870-talet.

Arbetarlönerna utvecklades snabbare i Sverige än i andra europeiska länder under 1800-talet. I slutet av seklet var de bland de högsta i Europa och allra mest ökade lönerna för de sämst betalda. Det här visar ny forskning från Uppsala universitet med bl.a. Jakob Molinder från Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen. Studien har publicerats i tidskriften The Journal of Economic History.
