New educational and pedagogical opportunity

As part of the BUP's work with education and teaching, the BUP invites colleagues to become part of an online educational working group that is interdisciplinary and intercultural in-nature. The group will consist of teachers and specialists from within sustainability science and work broadly with using, evaluating, updating and supplementing the BUP Course Platform.

New Centre Director in Latvia

The BUP announces supervisor training programme

Starting on 5 December the BUP will host a free online training programme series that aims toward enhancing and developing the participant's supervisionary pedagogies. This series is for those who want to learn with others in an interdisciplinary and interregional environment and get some more support regarding supervision.

Highly appreciated RESCUU Boot Camp

Last week saw the completion of the second student Boot Camp within the RESCUU project. Students at BUP participating universities in Ukraine participated in this event that was hosted by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. In total seven projects were presented and the students were supported and guided by experts.

The BUP announces student organised conference

The Baltic University Programme (BUP) and the University of Ostrava are pleased to announce an upcoming student conference: Environment and Well-being: a joint venture of technology, sciences, and humanities. The student conference will take place between 6-9 December in Ostrava, Czech Republic and will be based in this fascinating city as well as its surroundings.

The BUP PhD Award 2023 winners

We proudly presented the winners of the BUP PhD Award 2023: Joao Paulino Pires Eustachio in the research area Social Sciences and Humanities and Ramin Moghadasi in the research area Natural Sciences, Technology and Engineering. The winners receive a prize in the form of a diploma and support of up to a maximum of 1000 Euro for either attending a scientific conference or publishing in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

New BUP book published

We are happy to share with you that we have now published a new book: Re-thinking the Baltic Sea Region: trends and challenges. This book has been created within the project Digital at Home which has focused on the internationalisation of higher education, aiming at rethinking the concept of internalisation and how it is being conducted in education at universities.

RESCUU networking workshop

Winner of the BUP Mobility Grant 2023

We are happy to announce that Tamari Mumladze from Kaunas University of Technology and the project "Sustainable Technical Solutions for Plastic Waste Management during Activities Controlled by Municipalities (TechPlastControll)" has won the BUP Mobility Grant 2023. The project aims to address the challenges of plastic waste management and pollution reduction in the municipalities of the Baltic States' big cities.

New BUP Student Representative elected

The students attenting the Student Conference have elected a new BUP Student Representative. There were four candidates and after the closed voting the participating students elected Niumi Dissanayake from Riga Technical University in Latvia as the new Student Representative.

Call for application for PhD students to attend the BUP Science and Sail

The BUP now opens the applications for a limited number of PhD students to join the Science and Sail. Accepted PhD students will have a unique opportunity to take part in the full program, along with the students, while also practicing their teaching and mentoring skills. Each PhD student will be assigned to support a group of 8 international students and supporting them in contextualising the work.

BUP Student Conference 2023

We proudly announce the BUP Student Conference 2023! This year, the conference will be held in Kaunas, Lithuania, and the topic is Sustainable production and consumption: A circular economy perspective. The four-day conference is free of charge and applications are open for students at BUP participating universities. A maximum of 80 students will be selected to take part.

BUP Mobility Grant 2023

The aim with the BUP Mobility Grant is to develop and strengthen the cooperation among young researchers in the Baltic Sea Region by covering travel and accommodation for a research project. The awarded maximum is a total value of 3000 Euros.

Nominate for the BUP PhD Award 2023

The BUP PhD Award is a distinction given to the author of what is judged to be the most qualified PhD work defended at any of the BUP participating universities.
